Hawaii Videos

We usually alternate between Kona, Hawaii and Kaanapali, Maui for an easy family vacation. Diving off the big island is better, but we like the night life, restaurants, etc. of Kaannapali Beach. Maui has some decent "morning dives" such as Molokini crater and Black Rock (My favorite "hotel dive"). I love freediving at Black Rock in the morning when staying on Kaanapali Beach. We usually drive up to the Sheraton and lug our gear to the beach, but now with the x-scooter you can just walk out of the condo, jump in the water and scooter about 10min up the beach to Black Rock.

Any Good Diving in Maui? -- Maui Dive Site Highlights -- Spring 2007

With the $280 roundtrip direct flights between San Diego and Maui this Spring, you *had* to go. We bumped into several divers we knew from San Diego and Los Angeles. We were fortunate to have visibility in 80-100' range, so I'll spare you the pretty fish shots. This video is a collection of mostly wide-angle shots of turtles, divers, wrecks, walls, etc.

Featuring Kelly "girls love turtles" Bly, turtles, eels, Black Rock, St. Anthony Wreck, Tank Landing Craft Wreck, Molokini Crater, Molokini back wall, and various other reefs around West Maui. The Black Rock video was shot breath-hold with a scooter. Most other video was shot on scuba without scooter. All shot with ambient light.

So yes, there's some enjoyable diving around Maui.
